1. Where are you located?

2. How much is my fine?
Answer: Check the Court Cost Schedule on our website or call our switchboard at (228) 868-5855.
3. How can I get a restraining order?
Answer: Call Our Prosecutor's Office @ (228) 868-5844.
4. I feel that I am not guilty of this offense. What do I do?
Answer: Appear in court on your specified court date and enter a not guilty plea. At this time you will be given a trial date. Pleas can not be accepted by phone.
5. Can I make a payment by telephone?
Answer: You may fill out a credit card authorization form and a citation plea form from our web site and FAX them to (228) 868-5744. Also, Internet payments may be possible in the near future.
6. Do you offer Defensive Driving School for juveniles?
Answer: Yes; this may be ordered by the Judge at sentencing.
7. How can I get my driver's license reinstated?
Answer: (1) Call the Department of Public Safety that issued your driver's license. (2) Contact the court that requested that your driving privileges be suspended. If our court suspended your license, please click on "forms" on our website to see the reinstatement instructions.
8. How can I get a continuance?
Answer: Motion for Continuances will not be granted on initial appearances. A formal written request must be filed with the Court Clerk and the Prosecutors Office no later than two (2) full business days before the actual court date. Continuances received at or after 5PM will be considered received as the next business day.
9. Who can I discuss my case with?

10. Can I reschedule my MASEP class?
Answer: Call the Mississippi Alcoholic Safety Education Program, toll free, at 1-800-678-2534.
11. Who handles delinquent fine collection?
Answer: If the fine is less than two years old, contact a Collection Clerk at (228) 871-5213. Fines older than two years are assigned to the Warrant Management Unit, which may be contacted at (228) 864-5861. Be aware that fines turned over to the Warrant Management Unit incur additional costs, i.e., collection surcharge, warrant fee, etc. Fines cost a great deal less when paid off on time.
12. Do I receive credit toward my fines for time in jail?
Answer: No, unless you are sentenced to do community service while in jail. A defendant may be sentenced to jail for failing to pay fines at the rate of one day for every $25.00 owed. However, the fines are still owed when the defendant gets out of jail. Sitting in jail does not count toward the payment of fines.
13. How long does it take to get a refund if I posted a cash bond and am found not guilty?
Answer: Approximately 6 - 8 weeks from the date your case has been disposed of. You will need to provide the court with a current mailing address and telephone number.
14. Can I apply my refund to my other unpaid fines?
Answer: Yes – fines you owe but not someone else’s.
15. What is the method of payment policy?
Answer: Cash, Personal Check, Cashiers Check, Money Order, Visa or Master Card.
16. Who do I make my check or money order payable to?
Answer: The City of Gulfport.
