Thank you for your interest in the City of Gulfport.
Unless otherwise stated, all positions listed will remain open until filled. If a closing date is listed, applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on the specified closing date. Please see vacancy announcement for additional requirements to be satisfied.
The interview and selection process takes a minimum of 3-4 weeks; however, some positions may take longer. Pre-screening interviews are conducted for all positions with the exception of Patrol Officers and Fire Fighters. Pre-screens are utilized to determine whether or not an applicant meets the minimum requirements of the position in which they have applied.
Not all applicants will be selected for a pre-screening interview, but all applications are considered. Due to the number of applications received, we are unable to continually update each applicant individually during the selection process. Only applicants of interest will be contacted by the Human Resources Department.
Residency Requirement Info
All new employees who accept employment with the City of Gulfport MUST be residents and electors of one of the following counties: George, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Pearl River or Stone as a prerequisite of employment.
