The Department of Leisure Services provides numerous recreational, educational, and social events and activities for the residents of Gulfport. Leisure Services also operates 11 Community and Recreation Centers, and over 20 Parks and recreation areas through out the City of Gulfport. One of the Department's newest and finest additions is the Gulfport Sportsplex, hosting numerous regional and national sporting events .
The Department of Leisure Services runs several youth and adult athletic leagues as well as provide after school programming and the largest municipal Summer Camp Program in the State of Mississippi. Gulfport's approach to programming includes senior citizen programs and several opportunities for people with disabilities through the BlazeSports Club.
The Department also maintains the medians and landscaping of public grounds and facilities through Gulfport as well as 4 Cemeteries and their records for the City.
