Council members to hold additional meeting

Councilman R.Lee Flowers and Councilwoman Cara Pucheu are holding an information session this week for citizens who are interested in learning more about the city's proposed redistricting plan. The information session is scheduled for Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Lyman Community Center. Thursday's meeting is in addition to a public hearing that is set for City Hall tomorrow at 6 p.m. to discuss redistricting. "Orange Grove residents may not want or be able to drive down to City Hall," Flowers said. "With that in mind, Councilwoman Cara Pucheu and I felt like it was necessary to host an information session concerning the proposed plans." In his weekly newsletter to Ward 6 over the weekend, Flowers said Thursday's session would offer citizens "one-on-one time with council members and the city planner hired to draw the (redistricting) maps. " "We will have the proposed maps on display (Thursday)," Flowers said. "It will be a very informal gathering giving the people of wards 6 and 7 an opportunity to interact with their council members and learn more about this extremely important topic."
