Do It Downtown
GULFPORT — The Gulfport Main Street Association and downtown business owners next week hope to finalize a cooperative marketing agreement.
The “Do It Downtown” campaign is a plan to market downtown as a nightlife district in addition to its traditional role as a business center and dining hotspot.
More than a dozen businesses are participating in the joint campaign, which is expected to launch in the coming weeks.
“This is a great opportunity for our businesses to get a big bang for their advertising dollar,” said Lisa Bradley, Main Street director. “Without this cooperative effort, some of these businesses could not afford to advertise on their own like we are going to be able to do together.”
Ted Riemann, who owns The Prime Time Agency, a downtown advertising firm that donated the ad design work, said his agency is happy to help grow the district.
“This is an important time for downtown Gulfport and we want to do all we can to help,” he said. “Downtown Gulfport has changed dramatically and now it’s time to tell the world that we’re open for business.”
