More businesses headed to downtown
GULFPORT—Downtown Gulfport is celebrating recent growth with a long list of new additions, including restaurants, nightclubs, a marketing agency and a dentist.
“This is how it often happens; there’s a little calm usually before a sudden storm of new activity,” said Lisa Bradley, executive director of the Gulfport Main Street Association. “The past few years there’s been a lot of excitement, a lot of momentum and this wave of new business is helping to fan that fire of success.”
In the coming weeks, downtown will see several new restaurants. Investors are making the final preparations for a restaurant on 27th Avenue, and Mike’s Speak Easy Restaurant will soon open on 14th Street, near the old library building.
In addition, Rob Stinson, who owns Salute on U.S. 90, will soon open the Lookout Steakhouse on 13th Street.
Oral surgeon Jason Rosetti and a marketing firm will open on the second floor of the Kremer Building, just above the Half Shell Oyster House.
Oil giant BP has opened an office in the Hewes Building on 25th Avenue, and a new mortgage company will soon open on 14th Street.
