City to manage golf course
The City Council this morning voted unanimously to allow the city to take over maintenance and operation of the Bayou Vista golf course until a new operator can be found.
The current lease agreement with Triple Bogey Golf LLC expires at the close of business today, and the council wanted to ensure operation of the course without interruption, especially through the holiday weekend.
The Department of Leisure Services will assume management of the course beginning tomorrow morning. In addition, the city likely will hire employees who are currently working for Triple Bogey to provide for a smooth transition. Meantime, City Hall plans to continue its search for a new golf course operator.
