Press Release

The Gulfport Police Department has opened the Police Animal Welfare Shelter. This facility will be used to address those animals recovered by the Gulfport Police Department Animal Control Officers. This will not be a site for unwanted animals to be surrendered. Animals taken to this facility will have a featured picture and information on the City of Gulfport Website and the Gulfport Police Department PAWS Facebook page in order to facilitate the reuniting of pets with owners. The Police Department will pursue placement and adoption of unclaimed animals. Persons looking for lost animals can also call (228)868-5703. Persons wishing to support this effort as a volunteer or with contributions may also contact the Police Department at the same number.
