Water - Utility Billing

The Water Department for the City of Gulfport is managed by SouthWest Water Company through a privatization contract initiated in FY2000. Southwest Water collects fees for several miscellaneous services and five standard services: Water charges, Sewer treatment, Sewer transport, Debt service, Garbage. Of these charges, only the water and sewage transport are controlled by the city. The other charges are billed to the city by the Harrison County Wastewater District.

SouthWest Water has consistently met and exceeded the benchmarks set forth by the City of Gulfport and strives to improve the quality of service it provides by updating and modernizing the daily activities of the billing and meter reading department. There are two locations:

Downtown Office:
1422 23rd Ave / Ph. (228) 868-5720 / Fax (228) 868-5722

Orange Grove Office (Inside Police Sub-Station):
12178 Hwy 49 / Ph. (228) 831-0711 / Fax (228) 831-0713
Office Hours 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mon-Fri

Customers are welcome to come in to either office to pay bills, discuss bills, file for leak adjustment, pool adjustment, and/or set up new service which includes tap fees for new construction. For information on how to read your meter and check for leaks, please contact our customer service team for information.

The billing department accepts payments in the office, by mail or by credit card in the downtown office. We also have EFT-Direct Debit (from your checking account) available which you can sign up for at any time. This method of payment will allow your payment to be posted every month on time without the risk of late fees, and without customers having to remit payment via mail or delivering payment personally. We highly recommend this option as it does help our citizens who may not have a dependable way to get to one of our offices, and helps those who travel on a regular basis.

Please contact our office for information regarding refunding of deposits for Current Accounts. If you have questions regarding Delinquent Accounts, please call our office @ (228) 868-5720.
